Karen Elson (born 14 January 1979 in Bolton, England) is a supermodel and singer/songwriter. She is the twin sister of fashion model Kate Elson.
She sang the provocative “I Love You (Me Neither)” with Cat Power on a tribute album to French songwriter and singer Serge Gainsbourg.
She released her debut solo album "The Ghost Who Walks" in 2010. The album was produced byJack White and released under the Third Man Records label.
On June 1, 2005, Elson married Jack White (of the bands The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather and The White Stripes) in Brazil. The wedding took place in a canoe in the Amazon River and was officiated by a shaman. A Catholic priest later blessed the ceremony.
She met Jack while filming the White Stripes video for the single “Blue Orchid” directed by Floria Sigismondi. Elson gave birth to the couple’s first child, daughter Scarlett Teresa, on May 2, 2006 in Tennessee. Their second child, Henry Lee, was born on August 7, 2007.
They announced their intention to divorce in June 2011 but they have remained close friends with Karen providing vocals on Jack White's first solo record. Their divorce was made final on November 26, 2013.
